Voting for Presidential Primary, 3/5/24, 8a-8p, at OCC: The Town of Orland will hold voting for the State of Maine Presidential Primary on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, from 8:00am-8:00pm, at the Orland Community Center, 21 School House Road, Orland, ME 04472. There will be a Republican and a Democratic ballot. Those registered in either of those parties will be get the ballot that corresponds with their party affiliation. This is a semi-open primary, meaning Unenrolled voters will get a choice regarding which ballot they would like to vote. Those registered in any other party, such as Green Independent, Libertarian, No Label, etc., will not participate in the Presidential Primary election, as their party does not have a ballot. There is a 15 day waiting period when changing or withdrawing from a political party. Therefore, changes in political party must be made by Friday, February 16, 2024 to be eligible to participate in the March 5, 2024 Presidential Primary election. When a change in party occurs the person must stay in that political party for at least 3 months. Regular absentee Voting will be available through Thursday, February 29, 2024 during regular Town Office business hours. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the Town Office. 

Seeking Volunteers for a Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee

Orland Selectmen Establishing a Comprehensive Plan Advisory Committee

The Orland Board of Selectmen are seeking volunteers for a designated advisory committee to oversee Orland’s newly adopted comprehensive plan. The Board will appoint five voting members that will be representative of the Town.

The Committee’s mission is to organize, prioritize, and collaborate on goals and objectives identified in the Plan and serve as advisors for citizen Plan-related initiatives. Current Town needs and financial capacity and citizen input will be factored in. Its mission also involves keeping our Plan continually relevant and encourage its consultation when new Town policies, or revising or creating new ordinances are proposed.
